pause

I have a dream...
that we could all live
Life
just the way we've dreamed.
Mine begins under the biggest tree in my backyard.
big wooden table, chairs peppered alongside
collected from garage sales and neighbors who have long since gone
---mismatched and inviting.
a night filled with stars
and jars
of candles
lit high above dangling from branches so broad.
the smell of a BBQ and s'mores fill the air
a campfire crackles.
I hear laughter...
and tiny moments are captured in my memory
of the candlelit faces who have gathered around my table
the dearest of family and friends
for a night of talk and tale
food(lots of it:)
hot cocoa and such.
everyone is happy, content
with full bellies and souls
and the thought of staying til' the sunrise
is hopeful.
Simply heaven
I have a dream...
My wish is for the people of Haiti.
May life be and filled full of dreams.

Once upon a time...there was a kiss

not just any kiss...
one amazing kiss
that happened under the bluest moon
and a hundred fireworks
in the arms of the hunkiest guy
and his dog
(our chaperon for the night)
in the middle of rounded hills of snow
winking and sparkling for our attention.
it was the kind of moment that you think you are dreaming about
and hoping to never wake up.
quick!
a photo
then in snowshoes, we left our tracks
me, my Dream, his dog
and the kiss.

4...3...2...1 Lift off!

It all started with a shade of pink lipstick. You know the yummy Victoria Secret perfect-shade-of-pink-with-gold-flecks color that you can't say "no" to and would knock a guy's socks off if he wasn't paying attention---literally. Not only was the color perfect but the name "Fling" on the underside of the tube was apparently also calling my name?!
Why, you say?
"Today was the day I decided to finally face my blogging fears."
With nothing but computer screen on the agenda and some pretty good leftover chocolate from Christmas; I set out to do the one thing I put off (for too many years to count) in my jammies and maryjanes---oh and, pretty pink lipstick to boot!
So like a blue moon that appears on New Year's to greet us with it's grandeur every 19 years (hence the phrase "once in a blue moon"), I too, will blog on such a schedule...jk:) It's actually kind of fun and artsy and there aren't any math problems to solve except to decide what order to place my "gadgets" in the most logical light. And since it's such a monumental event, what a perfect opportunity to fly to the moon---launch my thoughts, stories and iphone pics to the blogger world. What better way to celebrate a new decade?
I'm happy to announce that this lil' sparrow has flown the coup (tree branch)! And all I can say is, buckle up and hold on tight, because you are going on the ride of your life...to the moon!
